Why we started Early
Almost every founder interview you have heard was recorded after the fact. The company worked, the round closed, the acquisition went through — and then someone sat down to explain how it all happened.
The problem is that success rewrites memory. Once you know the ending, every false start becomes a deliberate pivot and every piece of luck becomes strategy. The result sounds like a plan. It almost never was one.
What each episode covers
Early goes the other way. We talk to founders while the outcome is still open: when the roadmap is contested, the hiring decision is genuinely difficult, and nobody yet knows whether the bet pays off.
That means the conversations are less polished and considerably more useful. What you get is the texture of the work — the specific problem being wrestled with this month, the thing that broke last week, and the decision that has not been made yet.
